Set the ACME site theme and footer
Choose portal-wide colors, typography, menu-bar behavior and a footer, then understand when a page-level override wins.

Portal-wide ACME design settings establish the default appearance for every page. A page-level AcmeSiteDesign value can override its menu bar, hero and footer.
Set the site default
- Open the Menu Builder as Administrator or Host and click the Site Design card in the rail. Site Design saves immediately and applies live.
- Pick the Site CSS Preset — Ember, Ocean, Forest, Crimson and 20+ more.
- Choose the Menu Bar preset (Classic, Modern and more) and tune the Utility Bar items, or hide the bar.
- Apply the footer variant that should be the portal default.
- Verify an ordinary page without overrides.
Site-wide versus page-specific
| Setting | Scope | Override rule |
| Color and typography theme | Portal | Cascades through all ACME components |
| Default menu bar | Portal | A page preset can override it |
| Default footer | Portal | A page footer can override it |
| Hero variant | Page | Used only where the layout exposes a hero |
Use the Designs → Footers showcase to compare variants on real pages before committing. Content-heavy footers need enough page space; high-contrast variants should be checked with the selected color preset and real link labels.
